Glenna Goodacre (1939 - 2020)

Glenna Goodacre is a renowned American sculptor, particularly for her work in bronze. Her most notable works are the commissioned Vietnam Women’s Memorial in Washington, D.C. and her design of the Sacagawea dollar coin.

Born in Texas in 1939, Goodacre moved to New York to study at the Art Students League after graduating high school. She became a resident of Sante Fe, New Mexico in 1983.

Goodacre has received awards from the National Sculpture Society, Allied Artists of America, the National Academy of Design, and the Knickerbocker Artists’ gold medal for Distinguished Achievement in American Art.
